What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device to work, remember your preferences or collect statistics.
Which cookies we use
- Technical cookies: needed for the site to work, for example session and login cookies for the members area, the cookie that remembers your consent choice (
tp_consent) and the one that remembers your language (tp_lang). They do not require consent. - Analytics and advertising cookies: the site uses Google Site Kit, which connects Google services such as Google Analytics and Google AdSense. With your consent, Google may set cookies to measure visits and show ads, including personalised ads. These cookies require your consent.
- Third-party cookies: apart from the Google cookies above, we do not deliberately embed other third-party services that set cookies.
How to give, refuse or withdraw consent
On your first visit the site shows a banner where you can accept all, reject (closing the banner with the X also rejects) or customise your choice, enabling analytics and personalised advertising separately. Until you consent, Google Analytics and Google AdSense run in no-consent mode (Google Consent Mode): no analytics or profiling cookies, and only non-personalised ads. Rejecting does not stop you from reading the site. Your choice is remembered for 6 months, after which you will be asked again.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the Privacy & cookie settings link, which is also at the bottom of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings and manage personalised Google ads from your Google account settings.
For information on how we process data, read the Privacy Policy. For any questions, write to flavio@ciaranfi.org.
