Data controller

What data we collect
- Browsing data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, date and time. These are logged by the server for the operation and security of the site.
- Language detection: to show you the Italian or English edition, the site checks whether your IP address belongs to an Italian network, using a public list from the RIPE NCC registry kept on our own server. The IP address is not stored and is not sent to third parties for this purpose; only your language choice is saved in the technical cookie
tp_lang. - Account data: if you register for the members area, your username, email address and the profile information you choose to add.
- Data you provide: name, email and message content, if you write to us by email or through the site’s forms.
- Cookies and similar tools: described in the Cookie Policy.
- Comments: if comments are enabled, name, email and comment text.
Why we process them and on what legal basis
- To run and protect the site, and to show it in your language (legitimate interest).
- To manage registration and access to the members area (performance of the service you requested).
- To answer your requests (performance of your request).
- Analytics and other non-essential cookies (only with your consent).
How long we keep data
Browsing data is kept only as long as strictly necessary for the operation and security of the site. Account data is kept for as long as you remain registered. Messages are kept as long as needed to reply and, where required, to comply with legal obligations.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. It may be processed by the providers that help us run the site, in particular the hosting provider and, where enabled, the Google tools connected through Site Kit (analytics and advertising).
Your rights
You can ask at any time for access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability of your data by writing to flavio@ciaranfi.org or by PEC to flavio@pec.ciaranfi.it. You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).
