Editorial policy and use of artificial intelligence

Page updated on 4 November 2026.

Ciaranfi AI Land publishes practical guides on artificial intelligence, online security, everyday technology, smart homes, video surveillance, robotics and collaborative robots. This page explains who is behind the content, how we prepare it and what you can expect from us.

Who writes

The site is run by Flavio Ciaranfi, a systems administrator and IT consultant based in Genoa, Italy, who has also taught IT on Liguria Region training courses since 2013. All content is published under his responsibility.

What we publish

  • Guides: long articles that answer a concrete problem, with steps to follow, comparison tables and sources at the end. When a topic changes, we update the existing guide rather than writing a new one, and we show the date of the last update at the top.
  • Articles on specific facts: a new law, an outage, an important update. They carry the date and the official documents they are based on.
  • Breaking news: the news ticker shows a headline and a link to the original source, where you can read the full article. We do not copy other people’s articles.
  • Tools: such as the DNS and email diagnostics, which only shows data actually observed, with its source and the time of the check.

How we check

  • We prefer primary sources: legislation, vendors’ official documentation, reports by public bodies such as Italy’s national cybersecurity agency (ACN), CERT-AgID, the data protection authority and the Polizia Postale, technical standards and published studies.
  • Every figure has a linked source. If a figure cannot be verified, we do not publish it.
  • For topics we know from hands-on work, such as networks, cameras and home automation, we start from setups that have actually been tested, and we say so in the text.
  • We do not promise results we cannot guarantee, and we point out the limits of the solutions we suggest.

How we use artificial intelligence

We write about artificial intelligence and we also use it in our work, openly:

  • AI tools help us gather and compare sources, prepare a first draft and translate the English edition;
  • facts and figures always come from sources we cite and that anyone can check: AI is never the source of a figure;
  • the images in our guides are original diagrams made for the site, not generated photos imitating real people or places;
  • choosing topics, checking and deciding to publish remain a person’s job.

Corrections

If you find a mistake, an outdated figure or a step that does not work, write to flavio@ciaranfi.org. We correct the text and, if the correction changes the meaning of a piece of advice, we note it in the guide with the date.

Advertising and independence

The site is partly funded by Google AdSense ads, shown in spaces separate from the text. Advertisers do not choose or review the content. If we ever publish sponsored content or an affiliate link, it will be clearly labelled next to the content itself. Personal data and cookies are covered by the privacy policy and the cookie policy.
